Geography
- Capital - Pekin. (Bejing) China - state in Central and East Asia.
Territory - 9600 thousand sq. km. In east China has coastline along the Yellow,
East-Chinese and Southern-Chinese seas of thePacific Ocean. Along the coast
China has numerous islands, the largest of them - Taiwan and Hainan.

Representatives. Border countries: Afghanistan, Bhutan, Burma, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, India, Kazakhstan, North Korea, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Vietnam. Regional borders: Hong Kong, Macau.
The climate
- China has within it the limits of 3 climatic belts(zones):
moderate, subtropical and tropical. The climate in west continental, In the
east is mainly monsoonal. In southern areas, humidity of the air in the summer is

The banks work from 9.00 AM and from 14.00 PM. In China there is no uniform

Transport
- Public transport in the cities of China is typically overloaded up to a

Chinese Railway transportation
- The major highways are lines in a North and South direction from Pekin (Bejing) down to to Guangzhou, Shanghai and Harbina. The iron
rails and trains in China are overloaded. If you want to travel with
comfort, order the tickets previously and only of first class.
River navigation
- Largest water highway is the River Yangtze. Other important waterways are the Rivers Hungshui and Huang He (Yellow).
Electrical power
- the voltage in a network through the country
is 220 volts, but in localized areas it can be much lower. In hotels,
as a rule, it is necessary to ask for or carry your own adapter.
Customs rules
- There is duty-free import of cigarettes - up to 400 pieces for personal use. There is also duty free import of alcoholic spirits drinks but no more than 1.5 litres. The import of electrical household appliances and other subjects of personal appliance use are limited to 1 subject of each
name to each traveler. ( In other words, the test is again personal use - not intended for commercial purposes.) The import of the weapons, drugs, poisons, and explosive substances is forbidden. The export of valuable subjects and works of art without the commodity check, confirming their purchase is forbidden. The import of jewelry products is resolved by Customs officials within the limits of personal needs or requirements of the itinerary.
Mode of stay and the movement
- Be aware that there are still many sensitive or closed cities. For trips to the closed cities the permission or waiver of sanction must be received through bodies of public safety (security) prior to travel to the interior.
Souvenirs
- The choice of souvenirs in the city is huge, but the majority of
them are poor quality (cheap). Nevertheless, a pair of chopsticks, beautiful
porcelain, cups, varnish caskets, seales and cases can be obtained at spectacularly attractive prices. Reproductions of the well-known pictures by ink are discounted or price adjusted to very attractive prices for the typical tourist looking for serious presents.
Cities
- Hangjou and Suzhou are famous for their excellent tea. Here you can
get silk fabrics to fashion your own customized clothes at local taylors. Shops of souvenirs await you on Hubin Lu, 13. On Gushan Lu, 131 the fabulous carved products are sold. The finest silk in the worls from modern manufacturing can be bought in
workshop Du Jinsheng, 200 Youdian Lu.
The most famous grades of tea grow in vicinities of Shanghai and you should not miss the most famous tea house of this city at the address: Huangshan
Tea Co., 853 Huaihai Zhong Lu.
The markets open early in morning, offering brisk trade in meat, fruit and
vegetables from 6.00 AM. Be prepared to bargain always. Also, be sure to rinse any fresh produce off with a solution of chlorine bleach before preparing it for human consumption.
In Nankin there is no lack of shops trading in products of art crafts.
The tip
- Officially it is forbidden for service workers to accept a tip, though there are many that appreciate the offer. Just be aware that when they accept tip it must be a private not public matter.
The sanitary norms
- Medical services in China are best paid by cash money.
In Pekin (Bejing) there are no problems with rendering of medical aid to the
foreign tourists. Any international hotel of any stature for you obtains and verified credentials of the doctor who has received the European medical education. You nonetheless should always bring into your presence the services of an
interpreter, so that he can translate for you an accurate diagnosis, medical instruction of the doctor, and the name of preparations. It is best to bring along your own medicines because in Chinese drug stores you will not be assurred of obtaining the same type or quality of product. There are many brand-name knock offs of pharmaceutricals with poor quality control.
