Political system - The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is a hereditary constitutional monarchy. The airports - London is served by three airports - Heathrow, Gatwick and Stanstead.
Heathrow is the main airport of London. It is within about 24 km to the northwest from London's city centre. It first opened in 1946. Together with the services it is in itself a whole city. There are banks and buffets open all-round the day, there are movements of machines, a large fire-fighting team, their own newspaper and local churches - they never stop. Heathrow serves two thirds of all passengers arriving into Great Britain. The information tourist service of the airport works from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 pm. Several fine restaurants are at the terminal. At the airport there are also hotels and paid parking. Underground trains and tourist busses pick up passengers at the airport and whisk them into downtown London at a pittance of the price of a taxi.
The second airport Gatwick is within 45 km to the South of London. It opened in 1936. The airport is connected to city by a direct railway line up to station of Victoria. It serves USA and Latin American continent.
The third airport Stanstead is a regional commuter and smaller aircraft airport.

Travel into cities - Now in London it is possible to reach from the airport by bus, taxi and underground. From all Heathrow air terminals is sent (Heathrow - the downtown Station of Victoria). First bus is sent at 5:40 a.m. mornings, then every 15-20 minutes until 4:15 p.m. Later busses run for everyone 30 minutes up to last bus at 8:15 p.m. From all terminals is sent the airport bus А2 (Heathrow - Kings Cross). The first bus returns to the airport at 5:30 a.m., then follows for every 15-20 minutes until 5:00 p.m.. Busses continue repeatedly every 30 minutes up to last bus at 9:30 p.m. From the air terminal is sent a special Airbus direct from Heathrow to Central London hotels. First airbus leaves at 5:45 a.m., then additional busses repeat the journey every 15 minutes up to last bus at 2 p.m. This system of special Airbus serves 150 London central hotels ( over 29 routes).

Payment for urban transport - The ticket for the adult costs F6 and for the child - F4, for the adult there and back - F10, for the child - F6. Tickets can be bought in the bus from the driver, at the airport, in many hotels and in transport information centers. Taxi - The parking areas to pick up a taxi are found about each terminal. A payment for travel up to the centre of London (Picadilly) approximately F40 - F60. Car for rent - The automobile for rent can be taken at the airport. Avis and Hertz and other rental agencies are easily located in each terminal.

Transport:
Buses - The famous two-storied red buses serve all routes inside cities, and also tourist routes. The red one-storied buses serve short routes, mainly, stations. Kinds of payment:
1. Travel card Carrying a travel card allows one to avoid constant exchanges of money and is necessity to buy the ticket on each type of transport. It is necessary only to buy Travel card for all zones, on which you should proceed (from it's cost of a card) depends also, and to use it at the appointed time. To get a card it is possible at all stations of the underground and in any newspaper or tobacco booth.
2. One Day Travel Card One-day Travel cards can be used after 9.30 mornings from Monday till Friday, at any time in target and public holidays. It is void on Airbus Night Buses and other special buses. On this card the photo is even necessary for children 14 and 15 years.
3. Weekly Travel Card It is used at any time of day and night, by(with) seven days per one week. It is void on Airbus and other special buses. The card without a photo is void both for the adult, and for children.
4. LT Card It use once per day at any time by buses, underground and Docklands Light Railway. It is void on Airbus, Night Buses and other special buses. On this card the photo is necessary even for children 14 and 15 years.

The underground - The London underground totals more than 500 stations (11 lines), distributed (allocated) on six zones. The greatest loading on meters rush hours: 8:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.. The ticket for travel can be bought in automatic cash department or in usual cash department with the cashier in the underground. The payment for travel depends on numbers of zones, through which you follow. The ticket can be bought in one way (single) or both there and back (return). The penalty for stowaway travel is over F10!!!! The ticket should be kept up to the end, as at some stations it should be showed(presented) at an output(exit). If any help or information in the underground is necessary to you, ask for location of " Help Points ", where the employees necessarily ( out of duty) will provide help to you.

Taxi - You offer the services of a taxi of various updatings, but most reliable - old London black machines. If on a roof of a taxi the yellow bulb burns, the machine is free. Usually parking of a taxi are at stations of the underground, at stations, at the airports and ports, at hotels, but it is possible to call a taxi and on the phone.
