EESS provided capture management for Bratslavsky Consulting Engineers (BCE), crafting a highly skilled team to compete for the US Department of Homeland Security TABSS proposal - ceiling is several billion dollars. RFP was released in 2010 with award to be announced in early FY 2012. EESS has agreed to join BCE in joint ventures requiring both facility and ocean engineering expertise. BCE is a highly talented, woman-owned disadvantaged small business with specialization in civil engineering and commissioning facilities. EESS has engaged in technical evaluation of marine environmental systems that lead to cleaner ballast water, cleaner stack emissions and better engine efficiency. The objective provides a Green solution to help ship owners to comply with recent international regulations of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and prevent expensive delays in port and fines by regulatory authorities. EESS has interest in partnering to produce the next generation of Light Emitting Diode (LED) lights for ships. Such a project has exciting potential to drastically reduce auxiliary power requirements of ships, reduce maintenance, reduce on-board spares and by substituting environmentally friendly materials for toxic materials - break the toxic waste stream currently caused by fluorescent and mercury vapor and cadmium lights used aboard ships today. Finally EESS is also providing for funding evaluation teams in NYC research, technical and risk assessment of proposals submitted to humanitarian foundations for funding. EESS regularly provides support to a variety of charities including the Kennedy Center Foundation, the Boy Scouts of America, the Propeller Club and the Marine Technology Society. EESS LLC officials have participated as judges in the Fairfax County Schools Science Fair.
